A stimulus to encourage immediate response to resolve an issue.

Can be defined as the following: 80-90% population decline; at least 50% chance of extinction within 10 years or 3 generations; less than 250 mature individuals remaining; geographical extent of occurrence less than 100 square kilometres; geographical area of occupancy less than 10 square kilometres.
