Native to Brunca doesn’t just document wildlife in habitats disconnected from human activity as traditional wildlife documentaries used to do. Nor does it focus on documenting how humans are causing harm to the wild.

Native to Brunca documents wildlife and the conservation of it, highlighting the positive ways specific groups of humans are interacting with some of Costa Rica’s Key Biodiversity Areas, of which there are 26, and protecting them.

Included in the series’ considerations are individual species, namely Humpback Whales and Hawksbill Turtles, but also key habitats that include primary forests, mangrove forests, coral reefs, and wider coastal zones.
